Meet the extended team - Paula Gibson and Liz McKeown

Meet the people who care for our ladies.  Paula Gibson and Elizabeth McKeown, both locals to the Hawkesbury, and who are engaged by the Pink Finss whenever we have a lady or a family that is needing just that little bit of extra support and attention.  It could be a lady is recovering from major surgery, their treatment is making them sick, or they have a life limiting diagnosis and are choosing to remain at home.

Having Liz and Paula visit our ladies in their homes is so important because they have the experience to be able to notice things that family members might not.  It also gives family members a break from caring needs.  Liz and Paula also become companions and can often be that person to talk to particularly if our ladies are feeling scared and vulnerable.

Paula has been a support worker for 10 years and says her life is her family and making a difference in the lives of others.  I had a client once say to me “As a young girl I always dreamed about seeing a real fairy. This is exactly what I received when you came to work with me”.

Liz has been a support worker for 8 years and loves nothing more than connecting with our ladies.  “I very much feel like I have become a part of the Pink Finss family and it’s exciting to be part of a team that is offering a special and unique service to the Hawkesbury”.

What makes the service Paula and Liz provide unique is their ability to adapt to a situation and they will do absolutely anything to provide the care that is needed.  Whether it be driving children to day care, sitting with a lady during chemo treatment, grocery shopping, making beds or personal care, we know that our ladies’ needs will be met.  They always go above and beyond often working on weekends and after hours and we know we can call on them at any time if needed.  Having a consistent and reliable service provider is so important and we love that we are using local ladies to care for the people of the Hawkesbury.
